Briana, Trina and Karol sat at one of the booths in the Standish Grille trying to finalize the details of the upcoming Halloween party. It was already a yearly charity event for the town, but Briana had volunteered them to run it to try and help Trina take her mind off of her recent loss. So far it seemed to be working.

"So, you guys are cool with everything we came up with? Even the karaoke contest with Halloween songs?" Briana asked as she doodled on her note pad.

Karol grinned. "How many Halloween songs are out there anyway? I can only think of one. The Monster Mash." She began giggling. "Wouldn't that be a nightmare if everyone ended up singing that one song?"

Briana laughed as she agreed.

"What's the… Monster Mash?" Trina questioned.

"You don't know the Monster Mash?" Briana asked with surprise. "We did the mash…" she started singing rocking her head from side to side.

"The Monster Mash…" Karol added in her best Dracula sounding voice.

All three women burst into laughter.

"Hey everybody!" Drew asked as she walked up to her friends and sat down next to Karol, "What's so funny?"

"We were introducing Trina to the Monster Mash," Karol answered.

"Ah! Man! I missed the sing-a-long," Drew laughed as she peeled off her jacket. "What else did I miss?"

Briana handed over the pad of paper with her notes. "We've decided on bobbing for apples, carved pumpkin contest and the karaoke contest. Trina's offered to whip up some fun Halloween food."

"The Monster Mash…" Karol chimed in quietly with her Dracula voice.

They all laughed again.

"Ooh, that all sounds terrific!" Drew responded, "So, what's everyone dressing up as for the costume contest?"

"Josiah and I haven't decided yet," Karol answered.

"You better hurry up and think of something," Trina said, "The party's tomorrow night."

"I know," Karol replied, "How about you and Ezra. What are you two going to be?"

"I know! I know!" Drew grinned. "Because I made their outfits too." She gave Trina a smile.

"Well, I don't," Briana said with a smile, "So, fess up!"

"Well, Ezra's going to be Quasimodo and I'm going to be Esmerelda, the gypsy," Trina smiled widely.

"That sounds great!" Briana bumped her gently. "How about you guys, Drew. You're pretty creative. What'd you come up with?"

"Oh, I made us the best costumes!" Drew exclaimed, "We're going to be Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Isn't that the cutest!"

They all nodded and laughed.

"Buck as Mickey Mouse. Now THAT I've GOT to see!" Dwayne interjected as he walked up to the table.

"And you will!" Drew laughed. "I also made Dwayne's costume." Drew stated proudly.

Dwayne gave Drew a hug. "What would I do without ya, Little Bit?"

Drew sighed and teased. "I don't know-- I don't know -"

Dwayne threw his head back and gave a hearty laugh.

"What are ye going to be, Dwayne?" Trina asked with interest.

Dwayne wagged his eyebrows as he wrapped his arm across his face, "I'm going to be Count Dracula. Bwa ha ha!"

"Hey! That's a great idea!" Trina answered.

"Ooh, that reminds me." Drew turned towards Dwayne, "I have it in the car. Remind me to get it before I leave, okay?"

"Sure thing," Dwayne said. He craned his neck to get a look at Briana's notes, "So, how's the party planning coming?"

"We're about done," Briana responded, "Should be a pretty fun happening. Is it okay if we get here about two tomorrow to start decorating?"

"Whatever you ladies want." Dwayne smiled encouragingly. The phone started ringing. "Oop, duty calls. Let me know if you need anything else from me." He turned and walked away.

"This is going to be so great!" Drew squealed.

They all agreed.

Briana felt a wave of nausea course through her stomach. "Oh, man," she said as she put her hand on her forehead.

"You okay, Briana?" Karol asked, "You look a little pale."

Briana let out a soft groan. "Still can't manage to shake this flu. Trina, can I get by you. I'm going to the rest room and splash some cool water on my face." Trina jumped up and Briana slipped out of the booth. "I'll be right back."

The trio watched as Briana walked away.

Trina looked to the rest of her friends. "You think one of us should go with her?"

Drew furrowed her brow in deep concern. Briana had been feeling ill for a while. In fact, she'd been complaining about it ever since… "I'll go check on her," Drew said as she jumped up and headed after her friend.

When Drew entered the ladies room she found Briana leaning over the sink soaking a paper towel with water. "Hey, Bri. You okay?"

"Yeah," she groaned as she pressed the rag to her face, "Just give me a sec."

Drew moved to the edge of the sink and leaned against it. Looking down she gazed at her swelling belly and gently rubbed it. "Listen, this might not be the best time to ask but…are you by chance pregnant?"

Briana turned off the faucet and slowly straightened her body. "I'm not sure," she responded softly, "I could be."

"Have you told JD?"

Briana shook her head. "I told you what he said when it happened to him the last time. He never talked to that girl again."

"You have to tell him, Bri," Drew said as she put a comforting hand on Briana's arm, "He deserves to know."

"I'm scared, Drew," Briana whispered, "If I am pregnant I refuse to have an abortion. But then again, I hate forcing him into a marriage just because he thinks it's the right thing to do."

Drew smiled. "JD loves you. He'll marry you because he LOVES you. He'd love a new baby too."

"But all his dreams and his future. I don't want to be the one that takes it all away from him before he's ready."

"You're not taking anything away. You're giving him a wonderful future," Drew responded with a grin, "Don't be stubborn, Briana. Don't you see he wants his future to be with you. He's told Buck that at least a million times."

Briana smiled slightly. "He has?"

Drew nodded.

The bathroom door squeaked open and Karol leaned in. "You okay, Briana?"

The young Indian woman smiled at Drew. "Yeah, I'm okay."

"Good." Karol smiled. "JD's here to pick you up."

"Thanks. Tell him I'll be there in a minute."

Karol nodded as she disappeared back into the bar.

Briana let out a loud sigh as she looked in the mirror. "How do I look?" She pulled a stray piece of hair from her face.

"You look fine. You are going to tell him?"

Briana nodded. "Tonight."

Drew smiled as they walked out of the bathroom together.

"There's my special girl!" JD called when he spotted his Indian Princess, "Trina and Karol said you weren't feeling well. Do you need me to take you to the doctor?"

Briana shook her head. "I feel a lot better, thanks. Could you take me home, though? I wouldn't mind getting a good night's rest."

"Sure, anything you want, babe," JD responded as he slipped his arm around her waist and gave her a kiss on the head. They said their goodbyes and headed to JD's truck.

As JD drove Briana home she leaned her head against the window and stared at the landscape as it whizzed by. She tried to muster the courage to bring up the subject of her possible pregnancy. It wasn't proving to be an easy task.

"I'm sorry you're still not feeling well," JD finally said, "Is there anything I can do to help?"

Briana laughed lightly before shaking her head. "There is something we need to talk about, though."

"What's that?"

She turned towards him and lowered her head. "Well, this nausea. This flu I've been having…"

"You think you're pregnant, don't you?" JD finished calmly.

Briana was visibly stunned by his answer.

"I was afraid to ask."

"Afraid?"

"Yeah." JD laughed lightly. "I didn't want you to think I was being paranoid because of what happened to me before. Have you taken a test yet?"

"Test?"

"You know, those things you get from the drug store. Blue you're pregnant. A plus sign means you're pregnant. One of those."

Briana shook her head. "I wasn't ready to find out the answer."

JD reached over and tenderly grasped Briana's hand. "Why don't we do it together then. Alright?"

"You're okay with this." Briana stated as she wrinkled her brow. "You're not upset?"

"Hell no!" JD exclaimed with a smile, "I'm in love with you, Briana. You know I want to marry you!"

"But not right now."

"Now. Later. It doesn't matter to me when it is." He gave her hand a tight squeeze. "So we get married a little sooner than we'd planned. It just means we get to start our future together earlier." JD grinned widely. "And that suits me fine."

Briana felt hot tears filling her eyes. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner."

"I kind of figured it out the day after we had that talk on my porch." He let out a soft laugh, "Hey, if you are pregnant that means our child would be about the same age as Buck and Drew's. That would be cool, don't you think?"

Briana nodded happily. "Yeah, that would be."

"Listen, how about I pick you up first thing and we'll do the test at my place."

"Okay." Briana smiled as she moved closer to JD.

He slipped a comforting arm around her shoulders and kissed her head. "Don't worry. We're going to be fine!"

The next day Karol and Drew were busy hanging orange and black crepe paper when Briana entered the Grille.

"Good afternoon, ladies!" Briana called out, "How are we coming with those decorations?"

"Briana!" Drew responded with excitement as she abandoned her job and went to her friend's side. She dropped her voice to a conspiratorial whisper, "Judging by your mood you told him?"

"Drew!" Karol laughed as the streamers unraveled. "Where are you going?" She jumped down and stood with a hand on her hip. "Look what you did! Hey, Briana!"

"Hey, Karol!" Briana answered. She looked at Drew and nodded. "He was awesome about it. In fact, he had already kind of figured out what was going on - I didn't even have to tell him."

"Really." Drew stated.

"Who had already figured out what?" Karol asked as she approached the duo with the orange streamers in her hands.

"I thought I might be pregnant," Briana answered to Karol. She turned and looked at Drew. "But I'm not."

"You're not." Drew answered not sure how to react.

Briana shook her head. "Nope. I started this morning." She smiled. "I guess with all the stress I was feeling it was delayed. All the other symptoms went away as well. I feel great and am ready to par-tay tonight!"

"Me too!" Karol agreed, "This party's going to be the best! Wait until you see what Josiah and are going to be dressed as. You're going to laugh your butts off."

"Come on and tell us, Karol. Don't keep us in suspense," Drew begged.

Karol shook her head. "Nope. It's a surprise!"

Briana smiled as she looked around. "You guys are doing a great job. Where's Trina?"

"Our chef is hard at work creating her Halloween masterpieces," Drew replied, "When I checked on her earlier she had already whipped up some really cool stuff."

"Like what?" Karol asked as she picked up a blow-up skeleton.

Drew crossed her arms defiantly. "Tell me what you guys are coming dressed as and I might be persuaded to tell you."

Briana laughed.

"Aw, you don't play fair, Drew," Karol answered, "But, I can wait till tonight." She lightly wrapped a streamer around Drew's shoulders. "And so will you!"

Drew and Briana both laughed.

"Hey, we better finish decorating!" Drew said, "Crank up the Halloween tunes, Maestro! We have to be done in time to go home and change into our costumes."

Trina, Ezra, Buck and Drew were the first to arrive so they could get all the food that Trina had prepared laid out in time for the party. She had definitely gone all out with a vast array of dips, finger foods and desserts. Each had some sort of unique Halloween theme attached to it.

"Wow, Red, you really outdid yourself!" Buck exclaimed as he reached for a finger sandwich, "Everything looks great!"

"Careful, Buck," Ezra teased, "Don't forget it's Halloween. You might find real fingers in those sandwiches."

Buck paused as he considered the possibility. Shrugging he shoved the food in his mouth. "Well, maybe it will make me feel more macho than this costume."

"What are ye talking about?" Trina asked as she arranged the food on the table, "I think you two look cute."

"See." Drew stated as she fussed with Buck's outfit, "We're sure to win that contest."

"Goooood Eeeevening…" Dwayne drawled with his best vampire accent as he glided up to the foursome. "I am your host, Count Dracula."

"Dwayne got to be Count Dracula?" Buck exclaimed.

Dwayne laughed. "Nice costume, Buck." He reached up and pinched his cheek. "You look adorable."

Buck growled at him as he swatted the bartender's hand away. "I'm the new generation, Mickey Mouse. I'm gonna kick your vampire ass and look…" He pulled Drew closer to him, "I already knocked up Minnie!"

Drew rolled her eyes but returned her husband's affectionate hug.

"Hey everybody!" JD called out as he and Briana entered the Grille. He was dressed in a brown suit with a matching brown bowler hat on. Around his waist he was sporting an old time gun and on his chest was pinned a Sheriff's badge. Briana was wearing an authentic Indian Princess costume with beads, a feather headdress and a bow and arrow on her back.

"Look at you two!" Drew said as she moved up next to Briana and ran her hands along some of the intricate beading on her dress, "This is gorgeous, Bri."

Briana smiled. "Thanks. It was my grandmother's"

"I get what Briana is," Buck stated, "But what the hell are you supposed to be, kid? Some sort of gangster?"

"I'm Bat Masterson!" JD replied with frustration, "The famous old west lawman. Get it? We're a cowboy and an Indian."

Buck let out a snort as he walked up to JD. "Cowboys didn't dress like that!" He took JD's bowler hat from his head and placed it over one of his Mickey ears. "And what's with this stupid hat? Couldn't find a real cowboy one?"

"Shut up, Buck! It figures you wouldn't get it!" JD replied angrily as he tried to snatch his hat back but Buck kept moving out of his reach, "Give it back, will ya?"

"I will when you admit this ain't no real cowboy hat," Buck teased.

"Trina I love your outfit!" Briana exclaimed as she admired the beauty of her friend's gypsy costume, "Where did you get it?"

"Thank ye! Drie made the dress, but the jewelry is me own." Trina turned around so the bells that were sewn into the skirt would jingle. "I think Drie did great job with it." Trina smiled over to Drew.

Drew smiled back to Trina. "You look very pretty tonight, the costume suits you well." She gave Trina's hand a squeeze.

"That's a pretty cool costume, Ezra!" JD commented, "Are you supposed to be some sort of random, grotesque creature or what?"

"I'm Quasimodo," Ezra replied hunching down into character.

"Quasi-who?" JD asked with confusion.

"He's the Hunchback of Notre Dame," Trina answered as she ran a hand along her husband's hump, "And I'm Esmerelda the gyspy."

"Cool," JD replied as he spotted the awesome spread of food, "Wow, look at all this great stuff!" He grabbed an orange frosted cupcake and took a big bite. "These are good! Trina must have baked 'em."

"She did," Briana stated as she put an arm around Trina, "We wouldn't have anyone but the best caterer in town for our event."

Trina blushed.

"Oh my god!" Drew exclaimed as she stared towards the door.

"What's wrong?" Buck asked with worry as he moved up next to his wife, "Drew, you okay?"

Drew nodded as she smiled widely and pointed them all towards Josiah and Karol who had just entered dressed as hippies. The group of friends were speechless at the sight of Josiah wearing a long, straight-haired wig, psychedelic bandanna around his forehead, a tie-dyed shirt and several necklaces hanging on his chest including a peace sign and some beads. He rounded his outfit out with a pair of John Lennon spectacles. Karol was dressed equally as authentic except she had on a tie-dyed dress.

"Peace my brothers and sisters." Josiah said as he sauntered up to them with his arm around Karol. "Me and my old lady would have been here sooner but our VW bus broke down on the way. Lucky for us some cool cats stopped and gave us a ride."

"That true?" Briana asked with concern as she looked to Karol.

Karol laughed as she shook her head. "He's just getting into character."

"Nice costume, Buckaroo," Josiah said as he pointed at Buck, "That Mickey is one cool mouse."

Buck frowned.

"What's wrong, Buck?" Karol asked. "I think your costume is great!"

"Well, I liked my idea better, but Drew wouldn't do it."

JD groaned. "This ought to be good. What was your idea, Buck?"

Drew rolled her eyes as Buck smiled evilly at her. "Go ahead and tell 'em. You know you're dying to."

"I wanted to be Bill Clinton and have Drew be Monica Lewinsky," Buck replied proudly, "That would have won us first place for sure!"

The group of friends let out a collective groan. JD couldn't help but laugh.

"I'm glad you won that discussion, Drew," Trina said.

"Thank you." Drew responded. "I'm thirsty. Anyone want a drink?"

"I'm getting a beer," Briana answered, "How about you, Sheriff? You want one?"

JD nodded.

Trina, Drew and Karol went and found their reserved booth so they could sit down. Briana went to the bar to get the drinks.

"Goood Eeevening, Briana!" Dwayne drawled with a smile, "Veddy nice costume, my dear. Vere ees the cowboy you came weeth?"

Briana laughed as she hooked her thumb towards where the guys were standing. "You look great!" She turned and scanned the room. It was filling up fast. "Are you happy with the turnout?"

Dwayne nodded happily. "Eet will make the head vampiress veddy happy, I'm sure."

"Hey, are you supposed to be that Count from Sesame Street?" A girl dressed as Bubbles the Power Puff girl slurred, "I just love him!"

Briana laughed as she realized it was it was one of the new officers from the Sheriff's office. "Nice costume. Brittani, right?"

"Thanks!" Brittani squeaked - a blank look in her eye.

"Briana." The Indian woman answered pointing to herself than towards the guys, "I date JD."

"Oh yeah!" She cried out happily, "I DO know you! How are ya?"

"Ignore her." Officer Jo stated as she moved up to the bar blocking Brittani from Briana's view. "I wouldn't give her any more of your special Hallow-Screamer drinks, Dwayne. I think she's had enough."

Briana laughed. "Hey, Jo. I don't know if you remember me. I'm Briana Rainwater."

"Oh yeah. Sure thing," Jo answered as she got a beer from Dwayne, "Nice costume."

"Thanks." Briana replied as she studied the woman officer. Jo was dressed in plain street clothes. "So, what are you supposed to be? An undercover cop or something?"

"Cereal killer."

"What?"

Jo held up a box of Froot Loops with a fake knife sticking out of it. "Get it? A cereal killer."

"Oh, good one." Briana laughed. "Very original."

"I was going to wear all black and come as Night, but looks like somebody else had the same idea." Jo gestured her head towards Chris who had just entered the Grille and was standing by the rest of the guys. He was wearing black jeans, a black t-shirt and a black leather jacket.

Briana smiled as she shook her head. "I think that's his regular clothes." She took a long sip of beer. "Why don't you and Brittani come join us?"

"Maybe in a little while. I better keep an eye on her." She indicated the tipsy girl behind her, "Make sure she stays out of trouble."

"Suit yourself," Briana replied, "See you later."

It was about time for the various contests to start. Several people had entered pumpkins in the carving contest and had created some pretty amazing pieces of artwork. The Widow Landry, who had come dressed as Glenda the good witch from The Wizard of Oz, had carved a witch flying on her broom. Vin had surprised them all and carved an impressive rearing horse with a full flowing mane and tail behind it. It managed to win him first prize. The group was happy he and Nathan had showed up in time to hear the final judging. Fortunately, things had been pretty quiet around town.

"Who knew you had such a talent, Mr. Tanner," Ezra complimented as he patted the sharpshooter on the back.

The bobbing for apples competition was a tight timed race between Buck and JD. They were the only two of their group brave enough to shove their faces into the buckets of water to catch an apple in their mouths. In the end, JD won by a few seconds and was crowned King of the apple bobbing for the night.

The karaoke contest didn't produce many talented singers. The four girls kicked it off by singing Monster Mash, but then the rest of the night had volunteers singing anything from "Manic Monday" by the Bangles to "Crazy" by Patsy Cline. Brittani sang "Oops, I Did it Again" by Brittany Spears, causing the crowd to groan, even though she did a fair imitation of the pop diva. The girls all agreed she had obviously been a cheerleader in high school. Buck got up to sing "Ghost Busters!", with Drew and Trina as his back up. The crowd loved the rendition and got into it at the end by shouting "Ghost Busters!" along with them. But in the end, the crowd had cheered loudest for Buck.

Finally, it was time to announce the winners of the costume contest. Throughout the night all the attendees were supposed to hand their votes into Dwayne at the bar. The widow and mayor were in charge of counting them up and finally the big moment had arrived.

"Ooh, I just know we won," Drew squealed as she squeezed Buck's hand tightly, "I just know it!"

"First of all," Mayor Watson announced, "I want to thank everyone for attending this year's Four Corners Charity Halloween Bash. Through your generosity we managed to raise a thousand dollars for the Children's Hospital in Tucson." The crowd let out a loud round of cheering. "I want to be sure to thank all the people that made this event possible. Trina Standish, Drew Wilmington, Briana Rainwater, Karol Mason and Dwayne Johnson. How about a big round of applause for all their hard work!"

The room erupted with loud clapping and cheers. The boys all beamed with pride as they clapped with the rest of the crowd.

"Now, the moment you've all been waiting for. The winners of this year's costume contest." The Mayor looked down at his sheet of paper with the names. "As you know, each year we have you vote for one man, one woman and one couple. We had so many great costumes that we actually had a tie in one of the categories. But first our winner for the men. One stood out above all the others and it was Josiah Sanchez as a hippie. Come on up Josiah!"

Drew turned and gave her husband a hug. "You're always a winner in my book."

Buck's frown turned to a smile at his wife's words. He reached over and gently pulled Drew to his lap.

Karol smiled widely as she cheered wildly for her man. Josiah received his award then moved off the stage.

"Okay, now for the ladies." Mayor Watson looked at his sheet again and smiled. "It was a tough competition. This year's winners are Drew Wilmington as Minnie Mouse and Briana Rainwater as an Indian Princess! Please come on up, ladies!"

Drew grabbed Briana's hands and began bouncing happily. "We won, Briana! We won!" Drew dragged her friend on stage to get their prizes.

"How can Minnie win, but not Mickey," Buck pouted, "If we'd have come as my idea we would've BOTH won."

Karol patted him patronizingly. "There, there, big fella. There's always next year." She smiled then continued cheering for her friends.

Buck looked up to where Drew stood. He smiled with pride and stood up to applaud. "You're the sexiest Minnie Mouse I've ever seen! Come to papa darlin'!" He grinned wickedly as he sat back down and patted his lap.

Drew walked back over to her husband taking a seat where he indicated. "You mad that I won and not you?"

"No, Sunshine. I'm disappointed I lost not upset that you won. If they had a category for most gorgeous gal in the place you'd win hands down."

Drew smiled brightly and hugged her husband. Both then turned to listen to who had won the best couple.

"And now for the winners of the couples contest. There were so many creative pairings but there can only be one set of winners. This years award goes to… Trina and Ezra Standish!"

All their friends went wild with excitement as they watched the Standish's make their way to the front of the room.

After the costume contest the Grille cleared out pretty fast. Jo had taken Brittani home after the karaoke contest as both women were on duty in the morning. Thankfully, they didn't have to be in at the crack of dawn. Nathan and Vin had left and came back after their shift was over and the group was now all gathered around a table having one last drink before heading home.

"You ladies really did do a first rate job with this party," Vin complimented as he sipped his beer. "You should be real proud."

"It was a pretty good party, wasn't it?" Drew responded with pride.

Chris turned towards Vin and Nathan. "Did you guys have to handle any huge problems in town tonight?"

Nathan shook his head. "Not really. Caught a few kids playing hide and seek in the cemetery. Stopped some others from throwing eggs at cars. But that was about it."

Briana laughed. "Ah, the cemetary," she commented, "When I was a kid that was the place to go on Halloween if you were really brave. Course, the night wasn't complete without a trip by St. Mary's Mission to try and catch a glimpse of the ghost." She let out a soft laugh. "Nobody bothered to tell us you could only see her on stormy nights."

"Her?" Trina asked with interest.

"Yes. Her name was Jenny Lynn. Jenny Lynn Carson to be exact," Briana responded, "She was killed when a large tree fell on her after it was struck by lightning during a storm. Now she wards people away from trees to protect them. I heard that back in the early 1950s, several kids stayed out in the cemetery during a storm, just hoping to catch a glimpse of Jenny Lynn. And they did. They were sitting in their tent and the tent pole collapsed. When they rushed out, they saw a blue light hovering near the edge of their campsite. The kids all rushed to it, and just at that moment, a tree was struck by lightning and fell. Right where the tent was."

"That's so sad," Karol commented, "Who knew this town had such history."

"Not me," Drew answered.

Briana smiled more widely. "But, my favorite story is about the ghosts of the hired guns who saved the town from collapse."

"Hired guns?!" JD asked with surprise.

"What'd they take it over and bully the townspeople into doing what they wanted?" Buck asked. "That's what I would've done."

Briana shook her head. "No, it wasn't like that at all. From what I've read they were hired by the town to run out all the outlaws that were using Four Corners as a stop on their way to Purgatory. It wasn't an easy job, but they did it and now they are emblazoned in the town history forever."

"Who were they?" Drew asked with interest, "What were their names?"

"For some weird reason their names were never recorded. Just descriptions." Briana closed an eye and looked up at the ceiling as she tried to recollect by counting on her fingers. "Let's see, there was a sharpshooter. Preacher. Ladies man…"

"Now we're talkin'" Buck laughed as he gave Drew a hug. "A ladies man!"

Chris and Vin both shook their heads with amusement at Buck's comment.

"A healer. Leader. Gambler. And one they called the Kid." Briana did a quick recount on her fingers to be sure she mentioned everybody. "Seven of them in all." She gave a curt nod when she was satisfied. "Seven."

"Hey, that's kind of like you guys!" Drew said excitedly. "Buck WAS the ladies man before I got a hold of him. Chris you'd be the leader. Vin the sharpshooter…"

"Maybe ye are all related?" Trina suggested.

"I guess that would make me the kid, huh?" JD mumbled.

"That's right, kid," Buck teased as he tapped JD's hat over his eyes. "And don't you forget it!"

"So what happened to them?" Karol asked.

Briana shrugged. "History books don't say. They all just sort of stop mentioning them once the town was a safe place to live."

Drew let out a soft snort. "Doesn't that figure. Ungrateful townspeople."

"Legend says that the seven were never glory seekers. They were all on some sort of road to redemption and vowed to always protect this town." Briana grinned. "Sometimes, when the sunset is just right and you stand at the base of the hill on the outskirts of town some say you can see all seven of them silhouetted against the fiery sky. All of them, proudly astride their horses as they overlook the town. Their town. They say a calming feeling comes over you and then the seven riders just dissipate into a soft haze." Briana laughed lightly as she looked at the rest of their group. She shrugged her shoulders as she leaned back in her chair. "They say it's supposed to be quite an incredible experience."

"Sorry gang, but it's time for me to close up," Dwayne said as he walked up to the table of his friends.

"No problem, Count," Buck said as he stood up, "We were getting ready to leave anyway."

Everyone gathered up their stuff and said their goodbyes as they walked to the parking lot.

"Trina, did you have a good time?" Briana asked as she hugged her goodbye.

"Oh, I did!" Trina replied happily, "And I won a prize too!"

"Let's go, kitten," Ezra called from the car, "It's getting late."

Trina smiled and waved at her friends as she climbed in the car and they pulled away. Soon, Buck and Drew then Josiah and Karol left. JD and Briana were the last ones in the parking lot.

"I really had a good time tonight, JD," Briana said, "I was real proud to be with you." She ran a hand along the lapel of his suit and grinned. "You in your handsome Bat Masterson outfit." She leaned forward and gave him a kiss.

"I love you, Briana," JD responded seriously, "I will always love you no matter what."

"I know," she responded, "and I'll always love you too."

They climbed into JD's truck and left.
